Co Print & Sovol Updates and Developments!

Hello!

In this post you'll find out our newest updates and developments with Sovol and its brand new 3D printer, Sovol SV08.

Recently, Sovol announced their new 3D printer, the SV08. Based on the open-source Voron 2.4 design, the SV08 stands out by addressing the user-unfriendly aspects of Voron 2.4. Those who are familiar with the Voron project know how laborious it can be to build one. However, the SV08's ability to be assembled in less than one hour makes the Voron experience more accessible. Sovol also stated that they would donate $2 for every SV08 sold to support the Voron community.

Mechanically, the SV08 boasts a stable structure due to its Core XY motion system. Unlike printers with 3D-printed parts common in Voron-based builds, the SV08 utilizes injection-molded components manufactured through industrial methods, ensuring longevity and stability.

Featuring a spacious 350mm printing area and a PEI bed, the SV08 comes equipped with Klipper firmware, allowing for seamless operation. Its high-resolution camera enables monitoring and timelapse capture via web browsers or mobile devices through Mainsail.

Connectivity options include two USB ports, an Ethernet port, HDMI, and Wi-Fi capabilities.

Given the SV08's perfect compatibility with the KCM Set and the growing demand for color printing alongside the popularity of Voron 2.4 among our users, collaborating with Sovol to integrate their quality manufacturing capabilities with Co Print's color printing feature makes strategic sense.
As part of this collaboration, we've curated a specialized package, offering ready-to-use solutions for users seeking color printing alongside Sovol SV08 printers.

When you opt for this package, instead of Sovol's stock extruder, the SV08 comes with Co Print's ChromaHead. This is because ChromaHead incorporates specialized technologies designed for color printing. In addition to ChromaHead, the package includes the KCM (Klipper Chroma Module) and four CX-I extruders. This allows you to seamlessly achieve four-color filament prints using your SV08.

Before the SV08 was released, we conducted numerous tests with the KCM set. These included printing with 4, 8, 12, and 20 different filaments, long 48-hour stability tests, table calibration, flow, cooling, and cleaning tests. As a result, the SV08 and KCM Set successfully completed all tests working together.

We would like to share the prints that emerged from these tests:

In the test where we successfully printed a giant lizard with four colors, measuring 320mm in length.

Here is the finished version of the giant lizard:

In this test where we printed the Pegasus model, where we used 2 rainbow filaments and one silk filament.

The KCM set is not only compatible with the Sovol SV08 but also works seamlessly with other Sovol brand 3D printers. If you already own a Sovol printer which runs on Klipper, you can get the KCM set to enable color printing. In case you have a older one without a Klipper based, feel free to choose ChromaSet.

Here is an example of color printing with using SV 06. Since SV 06 comes without Klipper, we have done the tests with using our ChromaSet.
